'The Agency of
Development of
Intercultural
Relations (ADRI)
and French Foreign
Ministry'started
a cultural interactive
exchange program
that aims to create
a connection betwen
international
cultural cooperation
and integrity
policy. Regarding
this aim, ADRI
established an
intercultural
musical atelier
between Turkey
and Alsace Province,
France in 1998.
Five Alsacen amateur
musicians who
are all active
in present musical
activites through
out their province
and four Turkish
musicians started
to work for a
concert project
under the management
of composer Dominique
Colme and lycric
writer Gilles
Victor Thiam.
Turkish and French
musicians came
together and met
in Strasbourg
for the first
time and had a
rehearsal period
for a week there.
The musicians
gave a concert
in the ' Fete
de la Musique-
Music Festival'
in Istanbul in
June first, and
then three more
concerts in Strasbourg
and
France in September,1998.
The CD has the
vocal milestones
of this intercultural
meeting.
